The much-anticipated Bulgari hotel in Italy has finally revealed its official opening date. Following the recent introduction of a sophisticated hotel complex in Japan, the esteemed Italian brand is turning its attention to a place of deep significance—Rome, its birthplace. On June 9th, the luxury powerhouse will introduce its ninth hotel, strategically located at 10 Piazza Augusto Imperatore in the lively Campo Marzio district.
This venture into Italy, particularly Rome, signifies a departure from Bulgari prior global expansion strategy, marking a return to its roots. The hotel finds residence in a historic building envisioned by architect Vittorio Ballio Morpurgo and erected in the 1940s. Boasting 114 rooms and suites, the structure exudes colors and inspirations drawn from the Eternal City. Bulgari pays homage to Rome’s rich heritage, incorporating references to the reign of Emperor Augustus throughout the establishment.
A design narrative that artfully blends echoes of the past with contemporary allure Continuing their legacy, the Milanese architectural firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel spearheads the hotel’s design, expertly intertwining historical elements with a modern aesthetic. The Roman heritage permeates both the exterior and interior designs of the building. The 114 rooms are meticulously adorned in one of four colors: white, yellow, red, and green. Every decorative detail is thoughtfully considered, from the use of materials such as marble to Bulgari-patterned tapestries. The Bulgari Suite, a pinnacle of opulence within the hotel, sprawls across 300 square meters, providing one of the most captivating views of the city. Furnished with pieces from Flexform and Maxalto and featuring bespoke tapestries from the esteemed manufacturer Rubelli, the suite epitomizes the zenith of ultra-luxury.
Beyond the lavish suites and rooms, the hotel boasts cutting-edge amenities and facilities, promising guests a comprehensive wellness experience. The 1500-square-meter Bulgari Spa features a 25-meter indoor pool and nine rooms offering exclusive and innovative body and mind treatments. A dedicated fitness area, featuring a training method exclusively designed for Bulgari, is also available. Completing the holistic experience, the hotel features a variety of restaurants such as Il Ristorante-Niko and Romito, or La Terrazza, catering to a spectrum of culinary preferences.
Bulgari Hotels & Resorts is poised for further expansion, with plans for the opening of three additional hotel complexes in the near future, set to grace Miami, Los Angeles, and the Maldives.
