Two villas on Hibiscus Island designed by Zuccon International Project and Imago Development explore new perspectives and interpretations in the residential architecture of Miami: global design, Italian style, and meaningful dialogue between aesthetics, memory and context. One of the residences stands out for its collaboration with Baxter.
Zuccon International Project, an internationally renowned name in yacht design and globally recognised today for its ability to operate across the worlds of architecture and design, begins a new phase in its evolution by entering the luxury residential sector. Together with Imago Development, a local business specialising in the creation of spec homes, the Rome-based studio provided artistic direction and developed the interior design for two new villas on Hibiscus Island in Miami, bringing global design vision and a profoundly Italian spirit to the heart of Florida.
“When a project is designed without a client, the real challenge is to give voice to the context. The collaboration with Imago Development, which began life as a dialogue between different worlds, has become a shared vision. We haven’t just built architecture together but transformed spaces into living stories. These projects are not in response to a need, but to a vision. Every space is designed to spark emotions and establish a dialogue with time, memory and the landscape. This was a rare form of collaboration based on trust, a synergy that celebrates Italian beauty and ingenuity on an international scale,” says Bernardo Zuccon, who with his sister Martina heads the firm.
The two villas – Villa 375 South and Villa 400 North – stand on two neighbouring dry lots but express their personality through two different aesthetic and narrative languages.
375 South is lightness: neutral materials, natural tones and an architecture that melts into the light and the natural environment, which therefore becomes a key feature of the project, where silence has the same design value as the materials. The interplay of material contrasts and different tactile experiences create authentic and intimate engagement. Entering the villa feels like stepping into an ethereal, refined and timeless place. The furnishings of this residence will be curated by Baxter, a brand that stands among the symbols of Italian excellence in the world of design. The brand will help define the interiors through an intervention that brings its unmistakable style and production mastery, in perfect harmony with the soul and identity of the project.
400 North is a dialogue with the architectural memory of the place, inspired by the organic vision pioneered by Alfred Browning Parker. Unfinished concrete, mahogany and material contrasts give the project a more intense and grounded feel, where the architecture becomes a story and a statement of identity. Entering this villa gives a perception not just of space, but also of the determination to convey a memory and translate it into contemporary language.
“The collaboration with Zuccon International Project has been more than an exercise in creative synergy for us. It has been a meeting of visions that share the same focus on detail, identity and the ability to imagine spaces that inspire emotions. Together, we have created two unique villas, where the excellence of Italian design blends with Miami’s international energy. This project is the result of an intimate dialogue, in which architecture and storytelling merge to create places that have a soul,” emphasises Imago Development founder Federico Trotta.
The project was developed in collaboration with two American architecture firms: Atelier 305 for Villa 375 South, and Choeff Levy Fischman for Villa 400 North. An ongoing interaction between competence and culture, where the role of Zuccon has been to give shape and soul to the spaces, imagining the future inhabitants.
These villas are not just homes. They are places. They are stories. They are concrete proof that design can be a bridge between cultures, a universal language of emotions and beauty.
The project confirms Zuccon International Project’s international standing and the firm’s ability to spread Italian creativity, rigour and elegance around the world.
