Joël Garault is a renowned French chef, recognized for his expertise and commitment to Mediterranean gastronomy. Born in 1955 in Loudun, he began his culinary career at a young age, working alongside Chef Christian Willer in La Baule before opening his own restaurant in Limoges in 1970. In 1975, at just 20 years old, he earned his first Michelin star as the chef at the restaurant of the Hôtel Martinez in Cannes, a recognition that marked the beginning of his exceptional career.

Over the years, Joël Garault continued to distinguish himself in prestigious establishments. In 1988, he took over the management of La Réserve de Beaulieu & Spa in Beaulieu-sur-Mer, before joining the Hôtel Mirabeau in Monaco in 1991. His career at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, where he worked for 18 years, was crowned with a Michelin star in 2000, solidifying his reputation as a master of Mediterranean gastronomy.

In addition to his culinary achievements, Joël Garault is actively involved in charitable causes. He presides over the Association for the Promotion of Menton Lemon and is a member of the Compagnons du Tour de France. In 2016, he was named Chevalier of the Order of National Merit, highlighting his impact both in the culinary field and in his commitment to promoting local products and gastronomic traditions.
